The SiteLink team is upgrading our database servers in order to ensure we are using the newest and fastest version of SQL available. If you have received a message in your software indicating that you need to upgrade your SQL version, follow the steps below to prevent an interruption in service in the future.
⚠️ Please note, not all computers using SiteLink will require these same steps. The steps below apply to computers using SQL 2005 sp3.

Make sure Windows is up to date on your computer.
- If you are already using Windows 10 or 11, please check for available updates using these instructions from Windows.
- If you are using an older version of Windows, please follow these instructions to upgrade.

Stop the SQL VSDOTNET Service.
- Close SiteLink and/or Corporate Control Center.
- On your taskbar, click the windows button, type Services in the search box
- If you do not have a search box, right click on the Windows button, then click Search.
- Click the result Services.
- Scroll down to ‘SQL Server (VSDOTNET), click one time.
- Click Stop Service on the upper left of that screen.
- Close the Services screen.

Click here to download the SQL Server 2005 sp4 installer.
- Once the download is complete, double click to start the installation.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- If you receive a Program Compatibility Assistant window, click ‘Run the program without getting help’ to continue

Click SQL installer to install the latest version of SQL.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

After installation is complete, reboot your computer and open SiteLink.
