eSign upgrade FAQ

What's the benefit of the eSign upgrade?

We're upgrading the eSign experience to provide you with a faster, more reliable solution that offers a modern look and feel and better mobile support. The upgraded experience ensures a seamless and efficient signing process for you and your tenants.

How should I prepare for the upgrade?

If you're not already using devices with large screens to collect tenant signatures, we recommend investing in devices such as iPads or tablets to ensure a smooth transition. Alternatively, you can use a desktop computer and mouse.

As part of this upgrade, we’re phasing out support for signature pads. While we understand this may be a change, it’s designed with your customers in mind. Signature pads don’t allow tenants to see the documents they’re signing, which can lead to confusion or errors. The new eSign experience prioritizes transparency and accuracy by enabling tenants to view and interact with the document on devices like tablets, computers, or smartphones as they sign.

How do I receive the upgrade?

We'll post a Bulletin in your software the day before the upgrade to remind you to log out of your software that evening. Then, run a Live Update on the day of your upgrade to receive the new eSign experience.

What does the new customer experience look like?

The new eSign experience resolves performance issues, offers a refreshed design, and improves mobile responsiveness. You can find more details about the new customer experience in our article: SiteLink eSign.

Will I lose access to my current eSign documents?

No, all your existing eSign documents and data will remain accessible during and after the migration. We’re committed to ensuring there is no loss of data as we transition to the new system.

Will my tenants notice any changes?

Yes, tenants will experience a more modern and responsive signing process, especially on mobile devices. This should result in smoother and quicker document completion, enhancing their overall experience.

What devices can I use to allow customers to electronically sign documents?

Tenants can electronically sign using a mouse, keyboard, or finger/stylus and touchscreen (tablet, smartphone, or pressure-sensitive monitor.) We recommend using an iPad for in-store signatures. USB signature pads are not supported with the new eSign experience. This is because signature pads don’t allow customers to see the documents they are signing. The new eSign experience prioritizes transparency and accuracy by enabling users to view the document on devices like tablets, computers, or phones as they sign.

Can I use eSign on mobile devices?

Absolutely. The new eSign experience is optimized for mobile use, allowing tenants and operators to complete documents easily from any device, including smartphones and tablets.
