How do I activate an EMV device for Storable Payments?

⚠️ Card Readers are being tested with a small group of Storable Payments customers. This article is only applicable to that group. Please do not order a card reader unless you've been advised your site is eligible.

Once you receive your EMV device, follow these steps to activate it.

Lane/3600 and Lane/3000 setup instructions

Follow the instructions below to set up your Lane/3600 or Lane/3000 card reader.

1. Plug in the terminal power cable and plug the ethernet cable into your router.

2. The terminal will automatically power on and you’ll see the Welcome screen.

3. After loading is complete, you will see an Activation Code.

4. In SiteLink Web Edition, go to Site Setup and click Payment Terminals.

5. Enter the Activation Code shown on your EMV device and give your device a name; this is how the device is identified in SiteLink’s Payment screen. Once this information is complete, click Activate Terminal.

Note: The Device Name cannot be changed later. 

6. Click Save. You should see a message confirming that the terminal was successfully added.

7. The card reader will reboot 1 or 2 times after you save the information in SiteLink. If you see a new activation code on the terminal screen between reboots, disregard it.

8. When the triPOS logo appears on the EMV device, it is ready to use. To take payments and save customer card information with your terminal, see How do I process customer payments and save card information with my EMV device?

If you need to set up another card reader, repeat the steps above. 

 

Link/2500 setup instructions

Follow the instructions below to set up your Link/2500 card reader.

1. Connect the card reader to a power outlet with the provided USB cable to charge the terminal.

2. The terminal will power on automatically when it is plugged in and you’ll see the Welcome screen.


Note: If the terminal is charged, you can turn it on using the Green button.

3. Enter 0001 on the number pad to open the Admin Menu.


You can navigate the Admin Menu in two ways:

a. Use the up (F2) and down (F3) arrows to highlight a menu item and press the Green button to select it.

b. Press the number button that corresponds with the menu item you want to select.


4. Select Communication Type

6. Press the Yellow (Back) button to navigate back to the Admin Menu. 

7. Select Wifi Parameters.

8. Select My Networks. Find your WiFi network name and enter the password.

9. Press the Yellow (back) button until you have exited the Admin Menu and are back on the home screen.

10. You will see an Activation Code that you will enter in SiteLink.

When unplugged, the terminal can be powered off by holding down the .,#* and Yellow (Back) buttons simultaneously. The terminal can be powered on when it is charged by pressing the Green button.

Be sure to leave the card reader terminal on at the end of each day so that all payments from the day are correctly sent to the processor.
