Storable Payments Card Reader FAQ

⚠️ Card Readers are being tested with a small group of Storable Payments customers. This article is only applicable to that group. Please do not order a card reader unless you've been advised your site is eligible.

How do I order card reader terminal(s)?

If your facility is located in the U.S., you can purchase card reader terminal(s) on the Storable Payments store. The terminal includes everything needed to set it up and take payments. Note that the Lane 3600 is connected via ethernet and the Link 2500 is connected via Wi-Fi.

Please do not order card readers from other online stores. Terminals available on the Storable Payments store have been configured to work with Storable Payments.

If your facility is located in Canada, Storable will order your devices on your behalf.

How do I set up a terminal?

How do I take payments or save a card on file using a card reader terminal?

Tenants can swipe, insert, or tap a credit card to pay through the card reader terminal. You can also save credit cards on file while processing a payment with Storable Payments. You can find instructions in our article: How do I process customer payments with my EMV device?

Which forms of card reading are available?

The following methods of payment can be accepted through the card reader:

U.S facilities

  • Credit or debit card tap
  • Credit or debit card insert
  • Credit or debit card swipe
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

Canadian facilities

  • Credit or debit card tap
  • Credit or debit card insert
  • Credit or debit card swipe
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Interac Debit

 

Can I use one card reader terminal with multiple facilities?

No, you will need a unique terminal for each facility you plan to take EMV payments. The card reader terminals are configured to take payments at one facility. 

What should I do if a terminal isn't functioning correctly?

Reboot the terminal if you are experiencing an issue with the terminal such as not accepting all forms of card reading (tapping, swiping, etc.)
