SMTP setup by email provider

SMTP settings are dependent on who hosts your email address. Below, you will find the most common SMTP setup information. To get this information for another provider, please either contact your IT department or your Internet service provider.

 

GMAIL

SMTP Address: smtp.gmail.com

Port: 587 with SSL

 

You will need to set up Google App Passwords with 2-Step Authentication if you haven't already and enter a 16 digit passcode from Google in the SMTP password field. You can find instructions in our article: How do I use Google App Passwords with SMTP email in SiteLink.

**If you receive the following error when testing "The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required" please follow the instructions located here.

 

Godaddy/Secureserver

SMTP Address: smtpout.secureserver.net

Port: 25 or 3535 No SSL, 587 with SSL

 

Microsoft/Office365

SMTP Address: smtp.office365.com

Port: 587 with SSL

**Be sure the BCC email address is the same as the SMTP username.  If they are different, change the site email address to match the SMTP username in Setup->Site Information.

 

SBCGlobal.net 

SMTP Address:  smtp.att.yahoo.com

Port: 587 with SSL

*Be sure the BCC email address is the same as the SMTP username.  If they are different change the site email address to match the SMTP username.

 

Yahoo

SMTP Address: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Port: 465 or 587 with SSL

Follow these steps to enable Less Secure Apps in your Yahoo account:

  • Go to Account Info 

  • Select “Account Security”

  • Enable “Allow Apps that use less secure sign in

 

AT&T

5SMTP Address: outbound.att.net

Port: 465 with SSL

 

1&1 IONOS 

SMTP Address: smtp.ionos.com

Port: 25 no SSL

*Username is NOT the full email address

Ex: m12345678-123456789

 

Inmotionhosting.com 

SMTP Address: secure127.inmotionhosting.com

SMTP Port: 587 Use SSL ***NOT*** checked
